Full report and G-brain outline of the Smart Bangladesh Plan presented
In the first meeting of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology of the 12th Parliament, a full report on the plan to build Smart Bangladesh and the outline of the government's artificial intelligence G-brain was presented. In the same meeting, after analyzing the income and expenditure of the service and business institutions under the ministry for the last 5 financial years, the parliamentary committee ordered these institutions to play a visible role by the next 30 June. In addition, in the discussion, all the laws, regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the issue of making new laws have got due importance.
This order was given in the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Jatiya Sangsad on the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology on Sunday (March 3). The meeting was held at Sangsad Bhaban and the Committee President Kazi Nabil Ahmed presided over.
In the meeting, the member of the committee, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Mahbub Ur Rahman, Abdullah Nahid Nigar, Abu Saleh Mohammad Nazmul Haque and Md. Siddiqul Alam participated.

Identifying the areas related to the construction of Smart Bangladesh 2041; Formulation and implementation of short, medium and long-term action plans and monitoring and reporting progress of action plans to the Smart Bangladesh Task Force are recommended.
In the meeting, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director GSM Zafar Ullah, Startup Bangladesh Limited Managing Director Sami Ahmed, Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited Managing Director Ataur Rahman Khan presented a comparative picture of the achievements of the telecommunication sector. Moreover, the briefing paper regarding the Smart Bangladesh Plan Formulation (Phase 1) program was presented in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by two acting secretaries of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, heads of various departments, especially BTRC Commissioner Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Director General of Information and Communication Technology Department Md. Mostafa Kamal, Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar.
Before the meeting, a2i policy advisor Anir Chowdhury and project director Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiya handed over souvenirs to task force Chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed; Director General of Postal Department Tarun Kanti Sikder; Bangladesh Cable and Telephone Division Director General Lokman Hossain, Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited Director Satya Prasad Majumdar, Teletalk Bangladesh Limited Managing Director AKM Habibur Rahman and others.
